Clarence United Vs Southern FC 13/06/15 @ 4:30 WWP

Tomorrow we take on what you would have called a dark horse at the start of the season. Ten rounds in and they are a genuine title contender that can not be taken lightly. With 5 wins a draw and a game in hand (Againsed Beachside FC) our game shapes up to be another top of the table clash in two weeks! If last weeks game againsed university was anything to go by its going to be another absolute cracker of a game and night! After reclaiming the Andrew Hoppitt Memorial Shield last week we are high in confidence and look to put a gap between us and the rest of the table. With Julian McMahon out through suspension (5 yellow cards) we lose a lot of hardness through the midfield, but we look to add an impressive young left footed midfielder in Dylan Harris who will have pace to burn and hopefully provide an inconvenience to the Southern FC midfield and defenders! With both teams not having a stand out goal scorer so far this season I doubt there will be anyone getting any extra attention, everyone is as dangerous as the next person. Although I’m sure David Hoppitt will be looking to get on the score card with a few goals. With our goal difference at Six we look to tighten after only conceding 21 goals in 22 games last season in the Southern Premier League.

Words from the coach –
In the Southern Championship this week top of the table Clarence host fourth placed Southern FC at the ‘Dunegeon’ Wentworth Park under lights on Saturday night. Reds boss Alan Jablonski says it is a massive match up against a genuine title threat.

“Huge game this Saturday night against Southern, we only fell over the line against them in round one and this week we are without our captain Julian McMahon through suspension.

“In my opinion they are a genuine title contender with pace, experience and determination right across the park. And with Mr Trotter at the helm they are always extremely organized.

“Dylan Harris will come in for Jules so we will lose a little toughness in the middle but gain some pace and attacking flair.

“Both teams have had a good run of form so the game should be a cracker. Every game at the moment is a grand final as the ladder is so close from first to fifth.”
